Become the CEO of your health

As women, we manage all sorts of things. Like our family schedule, PTA events, and work activities. But do we give the same time and attention to our health and wellness? We need to start being proactive with our health journey. Here’s a few ways to get started:

Listen to your Body

With age I have become more and more in tune with my body. I know when I can push a workout. Or when I need a more restful day. Listen to these signals. Your health depends on it.

Start Learning

There is an unlimited amount of resources available from podcasts, books, and courses. These resources can assist you with some direction and. I caution you understand your sources…google doesn’t know everything.

Ask Questions

At your next doctor's appointment, don’t be afraid to ask questions about what your body might be telling you or what you have been learning.

Open Mindset

It's important to not get caught up in limiting beliefs when it comes to health. For example, just because things have always gone a certain way in your family doesn't mean they will go that direction for you. You get to create your own health and wellness journey.

Build your Team

It often takes a team of people depending on your health journey. You may need people with different expertise who are able to support you and keep you accountable. A few examples might be a GP; an integrative or functional medicine doctor; nutritionists; and a health coach.

These practices will help you feel more empowered to make the best decision for your health. Health advocacy means we are looking out for ourselves so we can show up at our best!
