Hi, I’m Susan

My passion for health and wellness led me to become a Certified Functional Medicine Coach through the Institute for Functional Medicine and a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach.

Homemade food was always a big part of my family, which fueled my love of cooking. In turn, my love of cooking inspired me to explore food as medicine. That was the beginning of Well Nourished—we nourish your health with seamless swaps and easy-to-implement steps, so you can nourish your life.

And we go further than food, too. As a functional wellness coach, we look at you as a whole person and your 5 lifestyle factors: nutrition, sleep, stress, movement and community. I’ll guide you in evaluating each of these in your own life. Let’s talk, today.

By passing the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching board exam, which is based upon extensive research and countless hours of work by the top professionals in the industry, NBHWC coaches are able to serve their clients at the highest level. By setting rigorous standards, the NBHWC ensures that certified health and wellness coaches are well-equipped to support clients effectively and deliver high-quality services. This commitment to excellence helps shape the future of the profession, driving positive change and promoting optimal well-being for individuals and communities.

  • Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaching now qualifies as a reimbursable expense under HSA/FSA accounts. If you're interested in receiving benefits under their HSA/FSA for HWC, you should consult your physician to discuss your medical treatment and care plan. If the physician decides that your condition warrants the support of a health and wellness coach, they may recommend that course of treatment. In this instance, we recommend a Medical Letter of Necessity be provided to record-keeping and claim submission. To receive reimbursement for an HSA/FSA, you need to follow the instructions outlined in your plan and contact the plan administrator with questions about submitting claims and receipts.   • At Well Nourished, we try to uncover and address the root cause of disease, not just symptoms. Like integrative medicine, functional medicine takes a holistic approach, but it takes things one step further. The goal of functional medicine is to treat or optimize health by addressing the root cause of illnesses. For example, if you are experiencing headaches, we try to look at what could be causing these vs just taking a pill to relieve the symptom.

  • First things first: This is not a diet or workout program. We will be making small shifts in your lifestyle that make sense for you and that build on each other. Functional wellness coaching comes from a client-centered approach. I am here to help you explore the root cause of your symptoms, support and educate, and finally help you keep you accountable.
